Happy Valentine's Day!

Don't you love, love? *sigh* One of the reasons I love writing YA is the love stories. I love the discovery of a first love or soul mate. I know a lot of people think YA books are silly because people really don't meet their soul mate at 16. I believe it can happen. It happened to my sister, and I have a few other friends who married their high school sweethearts. :)

In honor of Valentine's Day, I'd LOVE to hear about your favorite literary couples. They don't have to be YA. They can be any genre. I'll start! :)

I'm going to go with probably the most famous literary couple. Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy.

I will admit, I wasn't the biggest fan of Mr. Darcy. But digging a little deeper and realizing why he was the way he was, made me feel for him. I think they compliment each other very well. And aren't they just so cute?

Now, favorite YA couples! :D

Jace and Clary from the Mortal Instruments. Love them. I mostly love Jace. ;)

Tris and Four from Divergent. Nuff' said. Love, love, LOVE me some Four!

Katniss and Peeta. I love them so much. Though, I'm still mad at Mockingjay for so many reasons. I won't go into that though. That's a WHOLE other blog post. :)

So, my friends, who are your favorite literary couples and why?

Oh, I totally agree about Tris and Four. They were adorable.

Jo and Fritz from Little Women. Even at 13, I understood that Jo and Laurie just would have killed each other if they'd tried to be married.

Ron and Hermione. Classic.

Jane Eyre and Edward Fairfax Rochester.

Claire Randall and James Alexander Mackenzie Fraser.

Abbie Mackenzie and Will Deal

Those are the ones not yet mentioned that spring to mind.

Hazel and Augustus in THE FAULT IN OUR STARS. I'm still crying a little inside.

I love Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet! I enjoy the whole misunderstood guy thing :)

As for YA, my favorite couple is Grace and Sam from The Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy. They have such an easy, sweet, realistic love.

What does it say about me that the first couple I thought of was Romeo and Juliet? Ha!
Happy Valentine's Day!

I can't specifically think of a favorite, but I can tell your the first one that came to mind was Princess Cimorene and Prince Mendanbar from Dealing with Dragons series. Maybe I like it so much because Mendanbar has magic and Cimorene is an unusual princess, I don't know, but I do like their story.

Funny, I thought of Romeo and Juliet as well. How tragic?

But I can't help thinking of Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley.

For sure Elizabeth and Darcy :) I'm a sucker for the classics. Hmmm...maybe I should watch that today.

Anne Elliot and Captain Wentworth!! I know it's still Jane Austen, so that makes me a bit cliche, but she was the best.

I've got to agree and go with Anne Elliot and Captain Wentworth.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Lola and Cricket and Anna and St. Clair. V-Day makes me just want to reread both of those books.

And a surprising great couple for me- Alek and Deryn from Scott Westerfeld's Leviathan Trilogy.

I love Cathy and Heathcliff, not so sure why because they were miserable a lot of the time.

I can't believe you admitted you weren't the biggest Darcy fan. I loved him! I also loved Jane Eyre. The classics are so good and that's why I loved writing.

I did love Tris and Four, but I hate the name Four. I love love love Katniss and Peeta. And Jace and Clary are hilarious.

I agree with Hazel and Augustus. They still break my heart. And of course Elizabeth and Darcy.

I also LOVED Jameson and Sky from Jolene's book Night Sky. They were SO real.

Great post Chantele! I also LOVE love and although I like a bizillion different genres, I always need there to be a romantic plotline. My favorite couples are Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy; Anna and Etienne from ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS, Katsa and Po from GRACELING,Harry and Corlath from THE BLUE SWORD, and Spenser and Susan Silverman from Robert B. Parker's SPENSER series.

Mac and Barrons from Karen Marie Moning's Fever series. Not an instant match, but something that naturally grew. Written so well that I fell in love with Barrons as Mac did.

I have to pick Macy and Wes in The Truth about Forever because it's the most recent book I read. But I agree with some others already posted!

I am married to the boy (okay, now he's a man :) ) I first started dating when I was 13. We broke up for most of high school and dated others but got back together the first week of college. First love is definitely an interest of mine, too!

Hi Chantele - It was very nice to meet you on Twitter. Some of my friends went to LTUE - I'm very upset that I missed it. For some reason I missed the distribution list. I live in Cedar City...sometimes people forget that we're here!

Love Mr. Darcy (but only the Colin Firth one) and Elizabeth. I don't know if I have a favorite literary couple, but I do love books/movies where the hero and heroine either strongly dislike each other in the beginning or they're best friends to start.

Tris and four, sigh. I have hard time thinking about these things on the fly, hummm... how about Desi and Michael from Become were pretty sexy :)
