1. Thank you SO much for all the well wishes this week. I was so overwhelmed with all of your support. I honestly have the best writer friends EVER!
2. I was thinking about cover art for my book ... What do you guys like about covers? Personally, I like people on them. But I guess it just depends on the cover and the book. I hate it when a person is on the cover and they don't resemble the description of the character in the book. Huge pet peeve of mine. What do you guys like/not like? And am I weird for being nervous to see my cover when the time comes?
3. It's snowing. And freezing. Where the heck is Spring?!
4. I seriously can't stop eating Cadbury Mini Eggs. I've already gone through like three bags. This baby is gonna LOVE chocolate! Haha. :) What is your favorite Easter candy? Don't say Peeps... PLEASE don't say Peeps...
5. I'm loving Pinterest lately. I've pinned so many awesome inspirational pictures. Pictures help so much with my writing and ideas. I love finding more. And I have a LOT. :) If you're on there, find me! My profile is under my name. And I suggest you try it. Try finding pictures that go along with your ideas. It's a wonderful help. ;)
Have an awesome weekend everyone! I'll be back more regularly next week!

First of all, still so excited for you! I like people on covers too, but your right, it depends on the book. I'm sure your cover will be awesome.
Boo on snow. Yum on the Cadbury eggs.
Also I repinned one of your pictures, good eye!
1. It's so warm where I am. I was just asking myself "where is winter?" :P
2. I love book covers with people on them, but I agree with you. It's totally annoying when the people don't match the descriptions.
3. Favorite Easter candy? Probably Reeses chocolate bunny. So much peanut butter and chocolatey goodness...
4. Definitely following you on Pinterest right now. You pin some awesome pictures.
Have a good weekend!
Ew peeps- gag! My fave- Cadbury Cream Eggs. I'm going to overdose on them, I swear.
Congrats on your book deal! (I just read your tuesday post). I tend NOT to like covers with real people on them although I just read The Summer I Turned Pretty and loved that cover with the girl and two boys. SO I guess it just depends right? Can't wait to see your cover and read your book!
It's definitely spring here, though I wish it would be a little sunnier--we've been having all these overcast days! And yay for Cadbury eggs! Love those things. :)
Really? I took a nap on hammock yesterday!! LOL I hate Peeps! Love Cadbury eggs! And the Almond Joy eggs, omg...I'm havin a moment! :)
I'm not a fan of people on the covers. They never live up to my imagination.
Peeps? Heavens NO. Cadbury Mini Eggs all the way.
I don't love people on covers. I want to picture what they look like. I love artistic covers. Covers that are symbolic in some way (think Twilight)
How fun that you are thinking about covers!!! YAY!!!
I like people on covers too-- as long as it's not just a giant closeup of a face. Although, come to think of it, I've loved certain face covers, too. I guess it just depends on the book and how well the graphic design is done. :)
Hope it turns out amazing! Can't wait to see it-- and read it.
I think I'm going to need to buy some eggs today. And I like people but I really like covers that are more artistic. And I hate when the people don't look the way they are described. I was just invited to Pinterest and I have a new project so I'm looking forward to building a work file for that.
Have a great weekend!
I like people on book covers, but I'm not too fussed, as long as the picture is pleasing to the eye. :D
Mmm, mini eggs, I want some now!
I have the same pet peeve. I especially dislike when the girl is wearing a fabulous dress that she never wears in the book or would never wear bc it has nothing to do with the plot.
And I like reeses peanut butter cup eggs. Mmmm
Still over the moon for u Chantele.
I don't like people on the covers because it forces me to believe that is what the protagonist is supposed to look like. I prefer to let my mind create that because it is a more personal experience. There are many times when what i thought in my head differed from what I saw on a cover.
I like covers with people, but not necessarily their faces. I've havent' had any cadbury eggs yet, because I know when I do I won't be able to stop.
Oh my gosh! I'm eating those cadbury eggs too! Nothing better - seriously! I think if we eat enough of them, spring might come! :)
No, no Peeps. Ick! I love Cadbury caramel eggs. I also like covers with people on them, but they have to strike a natural pose.
I already put my two cents in about covers. (Yay!!How cool you're talking covers now!:)
And Peeps make me gag. The end.
Even though I'm Jewish, I love reeses peanut butter easter eggs! So addictive!!!
I've been eating a lot of the caramel filled Cadbury Eggs. Yum. My baby likes cararmel.
And as for book covers, I like them focused, dreamlike, and engaging. Is that vague enough for you? : )
Cadbury cream eggs, yum! And it drives me crazy when people on the cover don't match the description, too.
So excited about your publishing news! Woohoo.
I like people on the covers, but I also think there are some great covers without fully-detailed people on the front. Does that make sense? :)
I'm no good with covers, so I'll leave that one to someone else. I can't wait for spring. I swear, it was warmer last week than it was today. And my favorite candy is the Cadbury caramel eggs. I so love Easter season.
I have never been on Pintrest (butchered spelling) and I'm not real certain how it works.
Cadbury cream eggs are my favorite Easter candy.
And the day my book cover was emailed to me was awesome...didn't like the first two, but worked with publisher and got one I loved.
Not Peeps! I'd probably go with regular Cadbury eggs, but I also really like black jelly beans. Oh, and I love chocolate marshmallow eggs.
If a cover has people on it, I prefer art to photos. For instance, I prefer the original Alison Jay covers on Shannon Hale's earlier novels to the photos on the paperback versions.
Covers are so super fun! (Okay, this is slightly influenced by the fact I got mine this week :) I hope you love yours! And what I wouldn't give for those giant Sees candy chocolate Easter eggs. Mmm!
I agree with you about the disconnect between cover and story character being too different. It's unsettling. I love covers with great color schemes that match the feel of the story or one's that make me ask a million questions. Snickers peanut butter eggs are ridiculously delicious.
