Weird Word Wednesday ... sort of.

You know what word I think is weird? Blindfold. Really? It sort of makes sense, since you put them on your eyes and you are basically blind, but where does the fold come in? Isn't it a knot? I guess it depends on the size of said blindfold. Sometimes you fold them in half. Sometimes they are too thin. Meh. Still doesn't make sense to me. They should just be called "eye covers". Since that's what they do. They cover your eyes. :P

He he. If this girl knew just how ridiculous she looked. Isn't it funny how we put our hands straight out in front of us when we have "eye covers" on? Like zombies. Only, we don't kill people. Or eat brains...

 I realize this is not my average weird word Wednesday, but I couldn't help myself. Anyone have any "normal" words that you think are weird? I'd love to hear em'! :)

Today's weird word is: Loquacious

Definition:

1. talking or tending to talk much or freely; talkative; chattering; babbling;
2. characterized by excessive talk; wordy

My Sentence:

I swear I am never ever loquacious. I promise...

 I hope everyone is doing well. I've been way behind visiting blogs this week. I'll get on that. If I've forgotten you, I'll be sure to hop over and catch up! I love seeing how everyone is doing. Speaking of, how is your writing going? What are you working on? I've finally gotten back in to the writing groove. I had a hard time for a while. Not going to lie.
I've been working on BOUND a lot lately, and it's coming along great. Hopefully.  I have a lot of revising ahead of me, but I'm not going back to edit a lot. This is huge, folks. I can't seem to stop editing when I'm writing, and I haven't done it as much with this book. I just want to get it done! Anyway, let's hear how you guys are doing! :)

Weird Word Wednesday

Today's weird word: dudgeon

Definition: A state or fit of intense indignation; resentment; ill humor -- often used in the phrase "in high dudgeon."

My sentence: Sometimes I have a moment of dudgeon. Not to be confused with dungeon. Because they look a lot alike...


I finally figured out what to write. You know how I've been in a rut? I figured if I had a million stories in my head, I just had to choose one. I have my whole life to write "most" of them! lol So, I've chosen to finish my urban fantasy, and I'm sort of working on a paranormal on the side. We'll see how it goes! :D

Weird Word Wednesday

Today's weird word: Prink

Definition:

1.To dress up; to deck for show.

2. To primp.

My sentence: I do love to prink once in a while. It's hard staying home all day and not ever dressing up. Do we have any prinkers out there? (Pretty sure "prinkers" isn't a word, but you know me. I like to create my own!)

By the way. This word probably isn't the best to shout around town or teach your kids. It just sounds like a name you'd call someone. A not very nice name. Though, it is fun to say...

My baby sister turns 18 today. Weird. I'm getting old.
Oh, and my little guy is done with Kindergarten on Friday! HOLY CRAP!! This school year has flown by.! Literally. I'm waving at it right now.

Today's weird word is: curmudgeon

Definition:

a bad-tempered, difficult, cantankerous person.

My sentence:

My goal in life is to be that curmudgeon old lady who owns a million cats and yells at kids to stay off her lawn. He he. Actually, I think Candice mentioned in the comments once that she wanted to be that old lady. Candice, if you're reading this, bring it on! We'll have to duke it out with our canes for meanest old lady on the block! ;)

Today's weird word: Awesomesauce.

Definition: Awesome with a hint of sauce.

My sentence: My writing friends are so amazing that I want to cover them in a big bucket of awesomesauce. Not sure what that would entail, but I imagine it would be messy. :)

My sentence: I've been such a futz this week. He he. That's a funny word. :)


It's only Wednesday and I swear it feels like a Saturday or something. This week is dragging!

Today's weird word is : Craptastic.

Definition: When something is fantastically crappy.

Sentence: This week has been craptastic. Good thing the hubby is graduating on Friday! I won't be a single mother anymore! :D

Yes, I do realize that is not actually a real word. It totally should be though. Just sayin'.

Wierd Word Wednesday

Today's weird word is: aglet

Definition:

1. A metal tag or sheath at the end of a lace used for tying, as of a shoelace.

2.(in the 16th and 17th centuries) an ornament at the end of a point or other ribbon used to secure a garment.

My sentence: That song about aglets on Phineas and Ferb is hilarious.

Also, I just wanted everyone to know that I tried escargot yesterday. So, NOT good. It tastes like it sounds. Chewy, rubbery, and gross. Even if I slathered it in garlic sauce it was still disgusting. The hubby owes me BIG!

I've been thinking about my blog, and I'm pretty sure I need a new header. Well, not need. Want. Anyone creative out there that has any ideas? I'm so not a creative header creator. Say that three times fast! :)

Definition:
1. To overwhelm by argument; to refute conclusively; to prove or show to be false.

My sentence: I regularly confute with my husband about which movie to watch on a Friday night. Chick flicks all the way! :) Unless we have a Lord of the Rings marathon. Totally down with that.
