Lot's of progress!

I went camping this week. My dreaded nightmare. My hubby enjoys it a lot more than I do, and so we packed up the kids and headed out. We had a great time Thursday, and I was surprised it was so fun! Until...nighttime. I got the kids to sleep, and then tossed and turned all night long. Hubby did the same thing. I swear we stayed awake all night. Anyway, Friday we were both exhausted, even though we had fun with his family all day, but decided to go home that night instead of staying one more night. I know. We are the biggest wimps. Hubby was so disappointed in himself, and he kept saying I rubbed my camping hatred off on him! Anyway, we are glad to be home, and had a wonderful Sunday yesterday. We just got released from the nursery, which is sad and happy all at the same time.
On writing, I didn't have time to write all weekend, until last night. I made myself sit down at the computer, and wrote until midnight. Usually hubby stays up with me and watches a movie, but he went to bed at 10:00 because he was so tired. Anyway, I started writing, and just couldn't stop! So many ideas were coming to me, which changed an entire direction of my WIP! Has that ever happened to anyone? You are going at a steady pace, liking where your novel is going, and then Boom! Something happens, and you go a different direction with it, that you love even more? I am so excited about my new ideas, and how far I am getting into this WIP. I love it, and can't wait to finish it!

Camping is a two edge sword. The days are fun but the nights are horrible. For me it's mostly the noise of other campers that keeps me awake.

I love when that happens. When you just keep writing and then you look at the clock and it's midnight. It's almost euphoric.

Ah camping with kids. I camped so much as a kid and loved it. It's so different when you're the adult. But your kids will remember it and that's what's important.

And yes, that happens all the time to me. It's great isn't it? You know, if your novel surprises you then it will surprise your reader, so that's a good thing.

Usually my new ideas don't turn my novel in a new direction, they just turn into a whole new novel. So I find it very distracting. I want to get released from nursery.
