Monday WIP update

More Pics @ MySpaceAntics.com

Why do I always feel like such a bum on Monday? I don't seem to want to do anything. I have to drag myself out of bed, make my kids breakfast and get them and myself ready for the day. Sometimes we are ready before 2:00. Just kidding. I make it a point to be all ready by at least noon.
Anyway, on to my writing. I finished edits for my agent last week and sent my manuscript off again. I don't know why, but I get nervous every time I send it back. Just a habit from querying I guess. I'm expecting to see a rejection, but I know it won't get one until he starts shopping it to editors. I'm not used to NOT querying yet.
I actually have two WIP's right now. One is the sequel to the book my agent is working on, and the other is a brand new shiny series I want to write. I have about 11000 words, and I'm in love with it. I love the feeling of discovering new characters and fleshing them out. I love finding out what struggles they are going to have to overcome, and how they'll deal with them. I love creating magic in a normal world, and making it believable. It's so much fun for me. I'm all for magic and powers and all that. It's why I write fantasy I guess!
I'm not going to write the sequel to my other book too fast. If it doesn't sell, I don't want to write a whole book and not be able to use it either. So, I'm working on it a little bit at a time, and am focusing on my new WIP a little bit more.
What are you guys working on? Revising? Writing? Editing? I love knowing people are going through the same thing as me. :)

I just leapt through a huge thick fog of writer's block and finished 2 chpts. on my WIP. I'm at the end 65k words, but it is a struggle. Good luck on your edits. One day, I hope to stress about sending edits to my agent. lol.

I'm working on a fantasy novel. I also love magic and it's in most of my stories. Yay for finishing revisions!

That's a great idea to take your time with the second book in the sequel. Shiny new works are so much fun. I have two in mind, but I am telling them to wait so far.

This coming month, I'm going to try to get some short stories written. Then, it's back to rewriting my novel.

Good luck on your work!

I'm doing all three. Lucky me. I'm editing a chic lit, revising an alternate history and writing a contemporary. Glad you are having fun with yours. I'm having fun with my new WIP too!

I feel the same way about Mondays! It's like pulling teeth to get stuff done. Yuck.

As for my writing, I'm outlining a new book right now. A stand alone, I think. I'm really excited about it, though I can't figure out whether I want a male or female MC. So I'm outlining two different versions of the story. :)

I LOVE new works. I love them soooo much I've got about 20 of them. (No exaggeration.) And a script. And several pieces of music. And a musical. But right now I'm producing a new concept CD, networking, and prepping to make some music videos. Oye! Where do I fit the writing--and does anyone have about 3 hrs a day they can lend me?

I love the first drafting phase as well. It's so fun to discover the story. I have several half started stories, but I've mainly been working on editing for others. I enjoy that as well.

I LOVE new works! (And I love yours, Chantele!) Hope you're sending chapters this week!

I typed "THE END" on my first draft Friday night! I'm trying to take a laying-off period and thinking about how to make my book better, and reading lots.

Diana- I hate writers block! It is so hard to get out of sometimes. I'm glad you got back into the saddle again and got a few chapters written!

Michelle-Yay for fantasy and yay for finished revisions! :)

Cherie- I've never tried my hand at a short story. I guess my mind can't wrap around the idea of having such a small limit of words to write. That is awesome that you can do that. Good luck on your novel as well!

Shari- Holy cow! You are busy!! :D Good luck on all of your work!

Renee- Good luck on choosing a female or male MC. It's so hard sometimes, finding the perfect MC for a great idea. I know you'll figure it out! You are awesome! :D

Happily Cheesy- I know exactly how you feel about having 20 ideas floating around in your head! LOL I do too! I wish I could lend you 3 hours extra each day! If you figure out how to do it, let me know okay!? Ha ha

Kasie- I like editing for others as well. It's so fun seeing how other people write and enjoying so many wonderful stories. I'm learning to be a better editor, but still have a long way to go! :)

Jordan- I will send chapters this week! I'm such a dork, and never sat down to send mine last week! Congrats on finishing your book! So awesome!!

Mondays are made of fail for me as well! It's so hard to get anything accomplished!

So you're working on edits, and two WIP's?? That sounds like crazy making!!!! I say that but as soon as summer comes and this semester is over I'll be doing the same thing (minus the agent). I'm holding myself back from doing anything until then because I have so much schoolwork trying to do any writing is absolute crazy making!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!!

I'm in a similar situation to you (minus the total awesomeness of having an agent). I have a finished first draft which I've started revising, a new project I've written about 7k words on, and the series to the first draft which I've plotted. I'm loving having a few different things to work on though.

PS. I'm passing an award on to you here.

I'm finishing up the first novel and preparing to start my second. And taking a class on revising. Good luck with your new story! Enjoy the honeymoon stage.

I love creating brand new worlds, characters, and plots. That's why I could never write a sequel. ;) Right now I'm just chugging along in my rewrites for my NaNo novel. After a second draft though, it might get pitched a new idea might try to be formed. I'm too early on to tell if I love my story or not.

You guys have some great writing going on! Revising, rewriting, drafting, editing! It's crazy how many different stages there is to writing a novel and getting it to shine. Good luck on everything you guys are working on!! :D
