Spring Break!

My hubby hasn't had school all week, and to celebrate, we are driving to Colorado on Friday morning to visit his sister and her family. I'm excited, but have mixed feelings as well...

We are leaving at 6:00 A.M.

With 3 kids under 6

In our van.

For 9 hours.

Holy crap, what are we thinking?

Wish me luck.

See you guys next week and have a great weekend!

All I can say is GOOOOOOOD LUCK! Do you have a portable DVD player? We moved across the country with three kids under 6, and it saved my sanity. I had a bunch of activities planned, but we mostly defaulted to the movies.

Good luck Chantele. I drive from Oregon to Utah at least once a year with four kids for oh, somewhere around 14 hours one way. It's kind of like slow torture which is why I only do it once a year. I know you already left, but here are some traveling tips with kids.

Portable DVD player is a must!
Food, and lots of it.
Music and books.
And I know this may be awkward for some people, but a little training potty for when the kids just can't hold it and there's no bathroom for miles. Pull off on the side of the road, or at a stop sign exit, and let them go.

Good luck with the trip and have a great Spring Break! We are on Spring Break too, but instead of making the long drive, we are just going to stay in our home and watch the rain fall. Really exciting, I know :)

Ah, road trips with the kids. Good times. I drive out to Utah at least once every few months. (Though it's only a 4 hour drive for me.)

We listen to fun music. Showtunes, Disney movie soundtracks, that sort of thing.

Good luck! :)

Haha, I did yearly road trips like that my whole family life. A portable DVD player? Pure gold.

Have a great break!

lol, have a "fun" trip! But seriously, I think you'll have a great time...and so will the kids.

Good luck! Of course you're probably there by now, but my belated luck must be worth something! ;) Hopefully the ride back home is alright!

We just got back from our vacation in Breckenridge, CO. Three kids in our van for 15 hours, but luckily they're all over 6! Hope you have a wonderful time!

I'm sure you guys are having a great time! And I bet the drive wasn't so bad after all. Hope I'm right on both counts!
