I sort of have a fascination with strange words. So, every Wednesday I'll post a new one. If anyone can think of a clever sentence to use this word in, I would love to see it!
Today's weird word is: rubicund
Definition:
1. Inclining to redness; ruddy; red.
My sentence: When I'm out in the sun for as little as five minutes, I seem to come back inside with a rubicund tint to my skin.
True story.

Chase entered with a style all his own; his rubicund complexion only added to his strong male presence.
The more hungry the Cullens get, the more rubicund their eyes seem to be.
True story. Just look at Victoria...her eyes passed rubicund long ago. Now they're just kind of crimson all the time. Or they were...until she got shred to pieces by that other Vampire.
Yes, the one who's eyes would never dream of being rubicund.
Haha! I really do love these posts Chantele :)
Oooh, this sounds fun. When I eat raspberries, I develop rubicund spots all over my skin. I just bought the most gorgeous rubicund dress at Macy's. The rubicund light burned . . . Okay, okay, I'll stop.
That's a great word, I'll have to use it on my sister in law.
Nice word. I can honestly say I've never heard it before!
Unique word. I don't hear that one around the office much. Maybe I'll rubicund up my manuscript with some revisions that need to be made.
I've never heard of that word, either. I also can't go out in the sun without getting rubicund.
I think my name could've been tacked on to the end of that definition. :)
Michael, Michelle, Regina and Shari- Great sentences!
Patti- I'm going to use it all the time this summer! ;)
Renee- I haven't either!
JEFritz- I am seriously so white that I honestly can't stay outside very long without getting burnt. 10 minutes max, I swear!
Kasie- Ditto!
Whoa. That word is too cool. I'm going to use it innocently tomorrow and see what the reactions are. ;)
Oh, we’re going to get along just fine I see! I’m the same way. I actually keep a notebook full of words I find that I absolutely adore. I‘m a bit of a connoisseur of words, or perhaps you could say I’m a collector of them. Whatever the case, I’m obsessed with words, so it’s no wonder I’m a writer. ;-)
I hadn't heard that word. My cheeks have gone quite rubicund at the thought I should have read the dictionary more ;)
Hugs,
Rach
The rubicund tint to my cheecks was a given when Brad Pitt touched my hand.
He he this was fun!
The pompous man puffed up his round, rubicund cheeks in exasperation.
