I am happy to tell you I'm at 40k! Woot! Party! Wait...not yet. I have to at least get to 50k to have a party. And there WILL be a party!
You guys, I'm so happy I'm almost finished with the first draft of Bound. I'm going to put it away for at least a month before I start revising. Bound has so much world building and characters that it has been really difficult to write. There is more tension and more complicated relationships. To sum it all up, it's pretty sad at times. And I'm not really a sad kind of girl. Don't get me wrong, I love it, it has just been the hardest book for me to write for some reason. I absolutely LOVE my MC's love interest though. Love him. He's my favorite I've written so far. I hope I get to share him with all of you someday.
In the meantime, I've been plotting my new book that I'm so excited to write. It's called Switched. A YA contemporary fantasy. I love it. It's a fun side project for me to focus on. I have a feeling I won't be as stressed out while writing it. I'm excited to dive in.
How are you doing with your goals? Anyone finish a 50k yet? Querying? Starting a new WIP?

Yeah... I"m at that 40,000-will-anyone-ever-give-a-crap-why-am-I-bothering-with-a-project-I-will-never-make-word-count-on.

My first ms is finished and revised and edited ad nauseum and is currently around 66k. My WIP got up to 21k before I trashed it and started over *sigh* *weep* and is at 6k now. Congrats and have fun finishing!

Congrats! I love hitting 50k! I have just hit that myself and am feeling pretty winner-ish! Its only taken me three years! I'm so efficient! lol

woohoo! Who says you have to wait? 40k is something to celebrate. Then party again for 50k! Judging by the word count guide from your last post I have a long way to go.
Yay that's awesome that you are at 50k. I just started my WIP so I'm at like 1k lol. Your book sounds really interesting too. I can't wait to find out more.

Never heard of this 50k thing! 40k is great, congratulations on that :) And I love it when you love your characters. SO much easier to write, and a real joy!
I'm back on the editing bandwagon for my novel Sundown. Got maybe 8 chapters to do...then it's time for my print-out edit. THEN I hunt down some CPs. :)
40k! You're almost there - huzzah! ;) I'm letting my WIPs sit right now, though I'm itching to start reading, revising, outlining, and rewriting.
Congrats on the 40k. Keep going! You're almost there! As for my WIP, I'm still in outlining stage. I want to get my story in great shape before I start writing the first draft.
