50k Progress
So ... remember when I said I wanted to finish the first draft of BOUND by August?
Well ... I'M DONE!!! :D :D :D
I was a little under 50k, but I always write less and add about 10000 words during revisions. Is that weird? Anyway. I'm SO relieved to have the first draft done. This was honestly the hardest book to write. I'm putting it away for a few weeks to take a break from it and then I'll dive into revisions in August.
For fun, here's a sneak peak of my favorite character in the book. This picture reminds me so much of him!
Meet Trey. *sigh*
In other news, I started my new book last night. It's called SWITCHED. I wrote about 2000 words last night and I'm loving it. It's so nice to work on something that doesn't make my brain hurt as much! lol
How are you guys doing? Starting any new projects? Finishing your 50k's? Do tell!

Congratulations! I love the feeling of finishing a draft! I just finished a major revision and I'm headed into rewrites on a different book. FUN!
Umm..HELLO Trey my love. :)
I wandered over here via Phil's blog. Just wanted to say hi and congrats on finishing your first draft :_
wahoo! *virtual confetti* good job!
Great job. It's always a great feeling to finish a head of schedule. I'm still plunking away.
Yay! Congrats! I just finished a draft too and am plucking up the courage to dive into revisions. And I have a new project bouncing around in my head too. We'll see where that goes...
Woot! Woot! That is awesome news. I'm hoping to have a reason to celebrate by the end of the summer. Have fun with your new project. Beginnings are fun!!
Woohoo, congrats for making it thus far, and enjoy your break! Glad you're fiddling with a new project, too. That's always refreshing. :)
Congrats on finishing! That's got to feel awesome. Being on vacation, I've taken a break from my WiP, but I think it and me both needed it. :)
Congratulations!
CONGRATS!
I add about that much as I revise, too.
It's like I don't describe situations or give nearly as much internal as there needs to be.
I'm ALMOST there on my current - 48,700 and two more SHORT scenes to write. I started at the beginning again, and already see how much will need to be added in. But it's the fun part.
I must be the slowest writer alive.
Congrats on finishing. Good luck with the new one.
Congrats! And that Trey guy is making me swoon! Haha.
Yay congrats! Must feel so good! My book idea is still an idea and a prologue explaining what it will be about. But I will do it! I am nonfiction.
That is so great! YEA!!!! I'm finishing up some small stuff on mine, then I'm setting it aside to start something new as well. I'm excited!
Congrats! I would read your book just for Trey. Does that make me shallow?
Congrats! And I can appreciate the sigh about the pic of your Trey - he's pretty beautiful. :)
The main male in my novel that's out on sub right now is Trae. Cool name, hot guy! Good job on finishing. I am working on a side project with another author that is totally different from my norm. Fun though!
Great job! I'm not sure if I'm going to meet the August deadline, but we're still in July so I'm not giving up hope yet.
Yay! Yay! Yay! Confetti! Streamers! Sparklers! Not only did you finish one, but you started another right away??!! Yay!
erica
Yay! You're done early! That's even better. Congrats!
Super congratulations!! Nothing more awesome than those days after you're done with the first draft and you get to just take a breather and enjoy your success!
Thank you guys!!! You're the BEST!! :D :D
wow that's amazing! Congrats. Definitely give yourself some time and psace from the story. It will help with better revisions.
And Trey is gorgeous... oh my oh my
Woohoo! Congrats! I always end with shorter drafts, and add in revising, too. Starting new projects is always fun; good luck! :)
Fine, so you won! You beat me by a couple of days!!! But to be fair, I wrote more words than you. ;) No, I really am happy for you!!! And about your choice of Trey? Well done, my friend. Well done.
