50k Progress

I guess since I've finished my first draft of BOUND, I need to start a new 50k. So, I'm starting one. I want my new first draft done by October. I'd shoot for September, but I'm going to start editing/revising BOUND, so that won't happen.

So, my new WIP. It's not SWITCHED anymore. You know how I am about having way too many ideas.

Uh ... ya.

BUT, I've been outlining this WIP and actually know where I'm going with it, so I'm writing this one. Did you hear that right? Me? Outlining? I know. Huge eye roll. He he. Oh, and it doesn't have a title yet. Which drives me absolutely crazy. I'm also at 2500 words. Do you ever freak out knowing you only have 2500 words on your WIP? I do. Even though I just barely started it still makes me feel all twitchy.  Which is totally irrational. I mean, I just started!

Still. Seeing that small number compared to my 60k books, makes writing this book seem a little daunting. :P I'll get there though. It's only been a few days. If I could just stop freaking out about it I'd be fine.

So where are you guys at? Have you reached your 50k goal? August is just around the corner! ;) And if you're new here and want to write a 50k with us, please join! I just made my new goal for October, so you don't have to finish by August. Just tell me your goal and we'll cheer each other on! :D

And if you have a minute, I have a friend who just decided to put herself out there into the writing world by starting a blog. She hasn't really told a lot of people and she would LOVE to make some friends. She is awesome. Anyway, swing by Abby's blog and say hello! :)

2500 words is WAY better than 250! Woot! Go you!

That's so awesome you've started on another project. I know what you mean about the small word count in the beginning. But hey, that's 2500 less words to write. :)

Oh yeah. Every November when I participate in NaNoWriMo, I'm always freaking out at the beginning saying, "I only have 2500 words! I need 47000 more! What am I going to do!"

It makes for a very long month for the significant other.

Good luck with the WIP and the revisions...

Thanks for the shout out Chan! I am loving this and probably way too excited about it. You are awesome with all your ideas and constant progress! I love reading up on things and checking in on all these other blogs too. I am learning so much! Thanks for everything!

Well I am currently revising my novel with the help of a great CP, but I already have another WIP started. I am at about the same word count you are, so October sounds like a good goal.

I know what you mean about not having a title driving you crazy. I almost can't function without a title, and forget it if I haven't come up with my characters names.

I couldn't do it without an outline. I'm halfway through my next book. I'm handwriting it first, so not sure how many words yet.

I've totally had my mind set on one concept only to be completely swept away by another. I'm with you - we've got to go with the one that's speaking the loudest. Good luck on your goal; I'm waiting for the kids to go back to school before I expect major word countage. :)

@Stephanie McGee Thanks!
@Sarah Pearson Thank you!! And she is awesome! ;)
@Kadie Kinney True that! :D
@Stacy Henrie I know it is. It's so hard to see that 2500 though. But it will eventually be a lot more. ;)
@M.J. Fifield Ha! Mine too. My hubby just doesn't understand. He he. :)
@Abby You're welcome, Abby! :D And I promise I'm not that exciting! lol
@Jenny Great job revising! I love revising. Really, I do. Let's hear it for October! Woot! :D
@L. Diane Wolfe I handwrite a lot of stuff as well. I just can't sit down at the computer a lot with the kids running around. Good luck finishing your book! :D
@Kimberly Krey Thank you! I'll hopefully get a little more writing done when school starts again as well. :)

You sound so focused. Good luck, the start of a new project is so exciting no matter how far you are.

I've got a 99,000 word ms, that I need to add some to, so I'll need to cut some (more) from. Ugh.

Yay, outlining! I'm sooo tempted to join you but I'm pretty sure I won't be able to come up with an outline I'm happy with AND write that many words by October. :P

Nope. It appears that I am languishing at 35k. For me, however, that's pretty good. ;)

With only 542 for my word count, I will make a point to celebrate when I hit 2500. :)

I think I'll join you on this 50K for October challenge. Um, what did I just commit myself to? Eek!
