50k Progress
After a horrible weekend and start to this week, the family is on the mend. We are all feeling better. Thank goodness!
So, my update on my current 50k book. I've finally thought of a title for it. I decided on INBETWEEN. I like it. It fits. It's sitting at 5,250 words right now. Not a lot, but I am making progress. I didn't get a whole lot of writing done this weekend. Obviously from the sick kids and myself. Hopefully I can get more writing in this coming weekend. We are camping with my hubby's fam. In cabins. My kind of camping. ;)
So, how are you guys doing? How are your WIP's coming? Querying? Revising? Just starting to write? And if you don't mind, I'd like to know what your WIP's are about! Just a line or two. It will give you good practice on coming up with a pitch for your book! ;)
Also, my awesome friend Abby interviewed me on her blog! :) Head over and give her a follow!

Nice! Good title. Glad you found one.
As for WiPs, that'll have to wait for the next ninja chat.
Progress is progress, and you should be happy with whatever you are able to do.
Editing on my MS is going well, if you can call re-writing editing, lol!
My book is about the elements, in particular a girl who holds the power of the earth. She is on a mission to save her world from an evil witch and a hierarchical society. If that makes any sense.
Some days I think my WIP is pretty good and other days I think it's the worst thing ever written. That's just how it goes, right? ;)
I'm going to take a stab at the WIP pitch.
Wyatt Cobb is the first person in years to "ascend" to the 13th Plateau at the exclusive Academy he attends but he's concerned about the visions he's begun to have, visions of plague, famine and a beautiful woman who beckons to him from the Abyss.
Good luck with the writing! I hope you can get some more done, and I'm glad you're feeling better.
I'm working on revisions for The Unhappening of Genesis Lee, my YA sci fi about a girl who stores her memories in external objects and has to stop a memory thief before she and everyone around her are robbed of their pasts.
Glad to hear you're feeling better! Nothing like being sick to mess with the creativity.
I am researching for the query process. Very nerve racking and exciting at the same time. My WIP is a funny picture book inspired by my daughter and her crazy shenanigans!
So glad you guys are feeling better. I love camping and cabins too! How fun!
Glad you decided on a title :) Love it, by the way! Hope you have fun camping--in cabins. (That's totally my kind of camping, too!)
Right now, I'm creeping toward finishing my first draft. I'm really excited, but then I've got the demon of editing to face and, hopefully, conquer. Eek. Lol!
My writing has been slow going lately. I think it has something to do with the problem Joseph Selby talked about on There Is No Such Thing As Writers' Block. I've got over 20,000 words done, but being an adult novel I have a loooong way to go.
The main character Ex lost his memory and tries to investigate who he is. Using bits of memory as clues he tracks down the many aliases he has gone by and tries to work out who to trust. Also many of the characters have elemental gifts and may be a lot older than they look.
I hope that your kids keep getting better so that you can keep up with your 50K!!!
Any little bit is good! INBETWEEN sounds like a cool title. :)
My WIP is about Ax, an artificial human, who runs away from the capitol to capture the world's number one enemy because he accidentally let him escape. And when he's there he discovers that he's got everything all backwards. I've written 22k so far, but still more to go!
These pitches are SO awesome! All of your books sound amazing! :D I may have to do a pitch contest or something in the future... Give away a book or two... ;)
I'm supposed to be revising.........it's not going so well. hehe
@Trisha Ha! Sounds like me... ;)
Hi Chantele! Thanks for stopping by my blog... I can't wait to explore yours some more, and congrats on your new title! I'm working on my second manuscript right now, and I think I'm sitting at about 5,000 words myself... Best of luck to you!
