Random Thoughts From This Week

1. I love Criminal Minds. It's disturbing and sometimes gross and scary, but I can't look away. The characters are awesome, the bad guys insane and the scenes intense. I'm surprised I don't get nightmares from watching it. There is no way I could watch it without my hubby home though. It would freak me right out!
I LOVE Spencer Reid. The one on the left. And Derek Morgan. The third from the left. YUM!

2. Being in a book club, ROCKS! Just sayin'. Discussing books is one of my favorite things. And there are very different opinions and some hilarious ladies in my book club. It was so nice to get out of the house when it was dark outside! LOL And talk to real people face to face! I don't get out much...

3. I'm getting back into reading again. YAY! I haven't had time while I've been writing my WIP. I miss it. And love it. My WIP is at 51,000 words. While I didn't get a ton of writing done this week, I'm still going strong on it. Should be done within the next week or so. Then off to betas and time to revise!

4. I love my Kindle. Anyone else have an E-reader? I've been reading Marcia Lynn McClure books lately. I love them. They are so sweet and lovey and happy. If I ever need a light and feel good book, I always pick one of hers up. I can always count on a happy ending with every one of her books! :)

5. Anyone watch the X-Factor? Is it worth watching? I'm a big Simon Cowell fan, even though he would probably scare the crap out of me if I ever met him in person. I didn't watch the premiere this week. How as it?

Have a great weekend!

I LOVE CM too! Penelope in my favorite. When my sis tells me it's demented I tell her I'm researching tension :) My husband seriously considered being a criminal profiler after he got his psychology degree. Now he does international business instead. LOL!

I want a Kindle! It's on my list for Christmas. I hope Santa is kind.
I missed the X-Factor too. I want to see it though. I hope it lives up to the hype.

Oooh, I want to be in a book club! Yours sounds perfect. Good luck with the WiP! Congrats on being almost finished!

I had to stop watching Criminal Minds. It was just dragging me down. I did watch the premiere, but I hadn't watched at all last season so it was not really a great idea. But there was nothing else on. I haven't watched X-Factor. I think there's something else on when it's on that I watch. (How's that for vague.) Hope your weekend's great.

I use kindle on pc but I want a proper one so so badly!

Holy moley you're at 51,000 and you're going to be done in the next week or so? That's a ton! (well, I guess I don't know what your normal word count is I suppose, but if it's around 80k, well, wow!) Good luck finishing up that rough draft!

Going out at night! Lol. I know what you mean. Its kinda weird when you're not used to it. I feel like a vampire or something and I should be on the prowl. But, yay for grown-up talking!

I'm reading the last book in The River of Time series. So good!

I'm a big Criminal Minds fan, too, and I completely agree about Derek and Spencer... yep, yep.

The X-Factor was intriguing, but I'm still reserving judgment until I see a bit more.

You have a great weekend, too! :)

I love watching Criminal Minds, and Derek is SO Yum! I wish I had an E-reader. It's on my Christmas list. Have a great weekend ;0)

I watched the X factor last night at a friends house while she did my nails :)

It was...interesting. One thing that makes me sad about it is that they spend so much time showing the people who can't sing and zip through the ones that can...with the exceptional one or two good ones with more screen time.

But I tell ya. Some of those people weren't even singing! I'm not the best at singing, and I'd definitely not make it on screen ever since I'm just mediocre (not crazy or really good)...but some of it was a bit much.

But yes, I did like it. And I'm a Simon Cowell fan to a certain extent. Basically, he knows his stuff. But he needs to tone down his metaphors and similes :)

Okay, rant over. Yay for your WIP! And Yay for E-Readers. I don't have one, but I hope to one day. Have a great weekend!

I haven't seen many episodes of Criminal Minds, but I liked the ones I have. Seems like an awesome show :)

I don't have a Kindle, but I use my iPhone for the Kindle app and it works pretty similarly. I like it quite a bit.

The only time I get out when it's dark outside is a late night run to Walmart. Bleh. I would love to be in a book club.

Would wither away without my kindle, but I don't have TV, so I'm completely lost there. I know, I'm a dork . . .

'Criminal Minds' freaks me out! I wish I was in a book club! I miss my WIP when I'm not working on it, and I have an improper amount of love for my Kindle! But I haven't seen the X-Factor...otherwise this post very much spoke to me! Hahah!

@Angie Cothran I think the criminal profiling is fascinating. Is that sick of me? lol :)
@E.R. King I hope Santa is kind this year to you! :D
@Meredith Thank you!! Book clubs are so awesome. I really love it.
@Stephanie McGee I do like Criminal Minds. I do think it's disturbing, but it's kind of fascinating at the same time. I definitely have to watch it sparingly though. :)
@Sarah Pearson I hope you get one! I love mine. :)
@Maggie I usually end up around 55-60k for my first drafts. When I revise I add a lot of stuff though. So my books are usually between 60-70k. Never longer. I can't write super long books! lol :)
@Ruth Josse Seriously. I don't leave the house after dark. lol Yay! I'm on Cascade right now! Love it! :D
@J.R. Johansson I just love Spencer. I think he's so awkward and hilarious. And Derek is yummy. Love him.
@Jenny S. Morris Yay! I'm so glad there are more Criminal Minds fans out there! And I hope you get an E-reader! I love mine! :)
@Michelle Merrill I know. I hate that. I mean, sometimes the singers are funny, but I feel bad for them. And I think Simon knows his stuff, but he does go a little overboard sometimes.
My hubby got my Kindle for me for my birthday. I really love it. :)
@Steph Sinkhorn It is awesome. A little disturbing though. I have to look away at times... :)
@JeighLOL! Oh, Walmart. How I love and hate you at the same time. ;)
@Jolene Perry I honestly don't watch t.v. all that much. I do watch Criminal Minds because the hubby watches it after the kids go to bed. I half pay attention most of the time because I'm usually writing. ;)
@elizabethreinhardt LOL! Book clubs really are so fun. Even when I don't end up liking the book we read. It's fun to see everyone's opinions about it! :D

Spencer Reid FTW! One of my current fave characters on TV!

I watched X Factor. It was . . . meh. I thought it was going to be so different from Idol, but it really wasn't. Same or similar judges, same format. Maybe it'll be different once thy're out of the auditions, but it just felt like Other!American Idol. Also, they maintained one of the failures that almost turned me off the American Idol. For a while there, AI became totally awkward - weird judge interactions, uncomfortable to watch, typecast singers, mores about the drama. I was sick of it. Then, last year, with the new judges, they moved away from all that awkwardness, concentrated on the singers, the journey to become a start and it was AWESOME! X Factor was right back to the awkward uncomfortablness. IMO - FAIL! Although, I might give it another try when they get to actual competition.

I went through a big Criminal Minds phase. Then it started really freaking me out. I think i was on serial killer overload! And I love my Nook. I never thought I would prefer ebooks to the real thing, but I'm getting there.

Donna K. Weaver said...

I don't watch much TV except the news but I have caught occasional parts of episodes. You're right. The bad guys are insane.

I love my Nook.

Rofl! You wouldn't believe how disappointed I was to discover that X-Factor had taken auditions in Dallas and I missed it! Seriously bummed. Maybe next time...sigh....

@anonymeet Spencer is the best, huh? I love him! He's such a cute guy and a little dorky. Love it. :) I'm not sure if I'll get in to X-Factor. I'm not a huge fan of the awkward judges and all the singer drama. :P Maybe I'll give it a chance, but I'll probably forget it's on after a few weeks. :)
@Candice I know what you mean. Sometimes I can't watch it because it scares the heck out of me. I love my Kindle as well. Never thought I'd say that. ;)
@Donna K. Weaver I don't watch a lot of t.v. either. I do catch a few of those episodes though. And even though they tend to scare the heck out of me, I really like it! :)
@Peggy Eddleman Thank you!! :D
@lindy Oooohh! You're a singer? So am I! :D Though, I'd never try out for anything like that. You are brave!! :D
@J. A. Bennett What?! Awesome!! :D Thank you!!!

I love random thoughts. And I love Criminal Minds too, even though it's kind of creepy. Thanks for sharing! It was fun learning a little more about you.
