Books I can't wait to read!

I decided that Wednesday's are going to be book days. I'll either gush about an amazing book or spotlight a few books I'm excited to read this year. And I'd love to hear about some books YOU are excited for as well. Since I love to read YA and love to write it, it makes sense! :) And I love supporting YA authors too. I'm sure the occasional adult novel will be thrown in here as well. I do like to mix it up a little.

*This first book sounds like something I would love. Romance, mystery, a girl who can speak to fish? Cool!

Emma and her friend Chloe are spending vacation in Florida. When Emma (literally) runs into a hot guy named Galen on the beach, little does she know he’s a prince of the Syrena. Galen and Emma both feel something strange – is it attraction? – and Galen suspects that Emma might well be the girl he’s heard of – a human who can communicate with fish.

What follows is a deadly scene with a shark in which Galen witnesses Emma’s gifts. He must know more about her, and follows her back to New Jersey, and high school, to find out for sure if she’s the key to saving his kingdom. Soon, Emma can’t deny her feelings for him, but can’t explain them, either – and both she and Galen must learn more about where she comes from and what her powers are before they can trust one another and their feelings.

*So ... I didn't know Dan Wells had something else up his sleeve. Turns out, he does! The author of I AM NOT A SERIAL KILLER has written a dystopian book for young adults. Not sure if it's a series, but it sounds cool!

The human race is all but extinct after a war with Partials—engineered organic beings identical to humans—has decimated the population. Reduced to tens of thousands by RM, a weaponized virus to which only a fraction of humanity is immune, the survivors in North America have huddled together on Long Island while the Partials have mysteriously retreated. The threat of the Partials is still imminent, but worse, no baby has been born immune to RM in more than a decade. Our time is running out.

Kira, a sixteen-year-old medic in training, is on the front lines of this battle, seeing RM ravage the community while mandatory pregnancy laws threaten to launch what’s left of humanity into civil war, and she’s not content to stand by and watch. But as she makes a desperate decision to save the last of her race, she will discover that the survival of humans and Partials alike rests in her attempts to uncover the connections between them—connections that humanity has forgotten, or perhaps never even knew were there.

*I won't add a blurb for this one, since it's a sequel. And I'm sure some of you haven't read Divergent yet. All I know, is that I CAN'T WAIT! Seriously. DIVERGENT was amazing!

Any books you're excited for this year?

All those sound interesting. So many near books coming out this year. I'm looking forward to Pandimonium. Did I spell that correctly? Lol

There sure are a lot of mermaid and Kingdom of the Sea type books out. I've seen Poseidon here, Tangled Tides on another, and Amanda Hocking has got one called Wake (all in just a few minutes).

I really ought to read Divergent. *Adds to list*

I'm pretty excited for part two of The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin.

Of Poseidon is on my list of books to buy. It sounded so intriguing the first time I read the blurb about it. My TBR pile sits at 23 books right now. Sigh.

Ooh, Partials looks great! It sounds like a similar plot to an old Milla Jovovich movie. I've also GOTTA get to Divergent this year.

Actually, several of my most anticipated for this year are MG - from Rick Riordan and John Stephens. Plus, I'm hoping K.A. Stewart releases the next book in her amazing UF Jesse James Dawson series.

All of these look so good! But I'm beyond excited for Insurgent. I am also looking forward to Spellbound, the third of the Hex Hall series. I feel like I've been waiting forever for that one.

This is like the 3rd blog post I've read today mentioning Divergent. It just made a huge jump on my TBR list toward the top. Esp. if the second one is coming out soon.
