Movies and Things

So ... if anyone knows me, they know I love movies. The hubby and I own quite a few ... not going to say how many because you'll think I'm insane. Anyway, we watched a few movies this weekend since I don't write Friday-Sunday. We like spending time together on the weekends since the weekdays and CRAZY!

Anyway, here is a mini review of the movies we watched. First up?

Snow White and the Huntsman.

Did I like it? Uh ... Chris Hemsworth was hot?

Honestly, that's about the only thing I liked. I could watch him all day... ;) Oh ... sorry. Back to the review...

I'll say it right now. I'm not a huge fan of Kristen Stewart. I don't think she has a personality at all. Maybe that's being mean, but I didn't really like her as Snow White. I really wanted to like this movie, but alas, the romance was sort of nonexistent and Kristen Stewart ... well, you get the idea. Oh well. You love some you hate some, right?

Moving on.

In preparation of The Avengers coming out this week, the hubby and I are watching Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor and Captain America. Yes, we are sort of dorky, but I LOVE them! We watched Iron Man last night. I can't tell you how much I love Tony Stark. I think Robert Downey Jr. is amazing as him. I'm a big big fan. He rocked Sherlock Holmes as well. So, obviously I loved it, even though I've seen it 5 times already. :) Can't wait to buy The Avengers!! It was probably my favorite movie I've seen this year! I'm a sucker for a super hero I guess. ;)

Any interesting movies I should see? Any movies you've hated recently? Loved?

I thought Kristen Stewart was okay, but the problem was she is Bella and Always Bella. Just like Daniel Ratcliff will never be taken seriously in a role that isn't Harry Potter. My problem with the movie was it was SO DARK. Except for that crazy, fairy, buck scene. LOVED Avengers, however.

Is it crazy I still haven't seen the avengers yet?

I'm with you all the way on SWATH and Kristen Stewart. ANd I could watch The Avengers hundreds of times and still laugh hysterically at the scene between Hulk and Loki.

I tend to watch TV over movies, but I have to see The Avengers! Everyone raves about it. :)

Kristen Stewart, man. I feel about her the way Regina George feels about the word "fetch," except I can't understand why people KEEP trying to make her happen.

If standing around, expressionless, and mumbling dialogue while repressing her real-life potty mouth, was the stuff brilliant acting was made of, I would earn an Oscar every day.

Haven't seen Huntsman, but the reviews haven't not been kind. Loved Iron Man, Captain America. The hulk is much better in the Avengers.

We haven't had time to watch too many movies, but I did watch the new show Revolution and really liked it.

I just watched Snow White yesterday and I thought Kristen was going to ruin it for me, but I actually ended up really liking the movie. The problem with Kristen is that she has one expression. and not a good one, at that. Something about her irks, a lot. I'm mean, too.

But Chris Hemsworth... mmmm , yeah. I could stare at him ALL DAY. yum.

Okay, I have not seen the Avengers yet. I haven't seen Thor either. I need to watch Thor before my husband gets home because once he does we are going to watch The Avengers together. We wanted to see it when he was home for R&R but we never made it to the movies.

Kirsten Stewart - yeah. My 13-year-old son and I watch Twilight together and make up words that she is really saying about how much her acting sucks. I do want to see that movie though. Maybe I can watch it today while I clean my house. Or I can write.

I didn't like Snow White either. The problem for me was in the trailers they made her seem like a strong protagonist (escaping from the castle by herself) but then the rest of the movie she didn't really do anything.

I haven't seen Mirror Mirror but I'm interested in comparing/contrasting them as far as Snow White movies go.

Loved all the Avenger movies!! So so good.

So, you and your hubs could totally hang with me and my wife. We also own, ahem, LOTS of movies. :-) We'll watch just about anything once, and we love to re-watch our favorites.

I had about the same impression of Snow White, though I could overlook Stewart to enjoy the movie. It really was gorgeous, and I might feel the same way about Charlize Theron as you do Hemsworth. Maybe. :-)

Soooo excited for the Avengers release!

We're doing a post-Avengers celebration too. Yay for superheros!

Boo to Kristen Stewart! I was soooo disappointed with the love story in Snow White (or the lack thereof) and I agree, she did not fit the part at all!! Okay, rant over. And how fun, we've been doing the same in preparation for the Avengers. Just watched Thor last night!

Love, Love, Love all the super hero flicks! And I want to see Snow White, but really it is K-Stew turning me away, BUT I heard for the sequel they are focusing on the huntsman. She's not even going to be in it from what I heard. :)

I love Iron Man, too! My favorite Avenger. I LOVED The Avengers! And I love that you're watching all of the pre-movies. Sounds like a blast!

I haven't seen many movies lately. The latest was The Lucky One. I loved it like you loved Snow White and the Huntsman.

I did not like SWATH. And this is why: It's not a good sign when your title character has about 10 minutes' worth of dialogue in the entire movie. Needless to say I will not be watching the sequel.

Loved The Avengers. But it's a tie between Captain America and Thor for my favorites...

I love, love, love any super hero movie. I always have. And Robert Downey Jr. is one of my most favorite actors. You hit on several of my favorites in this post! Enjoy the rest of your movie watching week!

Three cheers for being a dork. Life is good when it's simple.

I think its safe to say that we all agree with you Chantele! K-Stew is hard to watch. I'm sure she's lovely in real life :) oh, wait...I don't think she is since she cheated on R-Patt. My bad!

I watched The Amazing Spiderman last night with my husband, and I really enjoyed it. It's much closer to the comics than the previous one was. I especially loved his witticisms while fighting the bad guys: I had always loved that in the comics.

My kids begged to watch the Three Stooges. My brain is still recovering.

I haven't seen any new ones lately~ glad I read your take on Snow White and the Huntsman. My hubby has been suggesting we rent it off the cable television (he's a big Charlize Theron fan), but I said..."eh, I think it might be more of a wait-until-it-comes-to-the-library movie." Sounds like you feel the same way.

I'm with ya on the Tony Stark thing - He's my favorite of the Avengers, always has been, always will be. We had to watch all the movies (except the Hulk) before seeing the Avengers too. I'm just not a big Hulk fan, unfortunately. Can't wait to get my hands on the Avengers this week! My boys are even more excited than I am, I think.

I'm interested in seeing SWATH, but I think I can wait a bit longer. Chris is the only reason I want to see it!

I loved Avengers!

Unfortunately I don't see enough movies... Avengers might have been the last one I saw... haha

My oh my Chris Hemsworth is a FINE human being. Actually, so is Liam. They're parents must be gods or something...

I haven't seen the new Snow White, but I did see the Avengers. It. Was. Awesome! I'm a sucker for super hero movies though. If they ever make a Justice League movie my heart may not be able to handle it all ;)

I'm with you about Snow White and the Huntsman. I wanted to like it more, but thought it was just ok. My hubby is also excited for the Avengers and we already watched Captain America this week!

Haven't seen The Huntsman yet, but I have a feeling I'd agree with you on it. And you're so right about Robert Downey Jr. - Love him!

SWATH was okay for me. Kristen Stewart was a bit better I think, though I still definitely don't like her much as an actress. Her buck teeth kept staring at me from the screen as well. 0-0

The only other Avengers movie I saw besides the actual big movie, was Thor.
