A little known fact about me. Since it's my birthday week and all. ;)

It's my birthday this weekend, so this week I'm going to celebrate and party! I'm going to reveal several things about myself that you may not know. Since I mostly talk about writing, it will be a little different. ;) And I think I'll give away a copy of Not Your Average Fairy Tale to a lucky commenter as well!

So, to kick things off, I'll start with a secret.

I love video games. I know that's not a big deal to some people, but it is to me. Sometimes I'm ashamed to admit it, but now I'm not. They're fun and addicting. Which is why I can't really play them that often, but when I do my kids love me. :)

It's a huge deal if someone can beat my son at Mario Kart, and to say I can is AWESOME! Ha ha! We love the Wii at our house.

My game system of choice when I was young was Nintendo 64.

Yep. Old school. I played many a game of Mario Party, Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda, etc. Zelda was one of my very favorites. Link. I loved that guy. We have many memories battling enemies together.

Sometimes I miss those days.

Sega was another favorite.

Sonic!! :D

Do you guys have any secrets you're willing to share?

Happy Birthday. We're also gamers. I love Harvest Moon, but hubby and I like to play RPGs like StarCraft, Baldur's Gate, Champions of Norath, etc.

Yeah, and my kids grew up thinking everyone's parents played video games. lol

E.J.: Thank you!!

Katie: I've never played Candy Crush for THAT reason! Ha ha ha!

Ilima: We never had an Atari, but my hubby talks about his all the time. He LOVED River Raid!

Oh. LOVE video games. Mario Kart and Cruisin' Around the World on Nintendo 64 was my life. After I married, we mastered Mario Kart on the game cube. Now we have the wii and it's all about Just Dance. My hubby LOVES Zelda. I just like to watch that one. I'm not much good at it. But yes, we love video games here too :)

Happy birthday early!

I loved Sonic the Hedgehog. It was even better when the second one came out and I would play Tails while my husband played Sonic. My ultimate favorite was Roller Coaster Tycoon. (I'm such a coaster junkie!)

Chantele Sedgwick said...

Diane: I LOVED the second Sonic! Tails was my favorite! :D

I hurt my back really bad just before senior year of high school and played Sonic for HOURS every day... Too funny.
Now, I just like the driving games. I call a MarioKart match next time we get together ;-)

We LOVE Mario Kart or anything Mario at our house as well. it's so much fun, and the kids enjoy it as well, a great way for video games to bring the family together. And my husband and I are always challenging each other to a game of Tennis on the Wii.

Happy Birthday! I hope you get everything you want today! I'm not a gamer, but hey, everyone has to unwind somehow!

Jolene: You're on! :D

Prerna: My kids love Mario games as well. And I love challenging the hubby to frisbie golf on Wii Sports Resort! I kick his butt. ;)

Happy Birthday this week! I love Zelda still! I'm even playing Skyward sword right now (when I can it's taken me almost a year, haha)

I love that! My secret is that I can kick trash at Just Dance 4. Next writing conference, you should join me and Jessie. We do Dance Party in the Restroom in front of the mirror.

That's a totally fun fact. I was a huge fan of Nintendo too! It was Dr. Mario and Yoshie's Cookie for me. And Tettris Attack - love that one. My kids love it when I play too, even if I do cream them most of the time - haha. Thanks for sharing - and hope you have a great birthday week!

Another gamer!! I think I knew this though, because didn't you say you used to play the Sims? Is that right? It's hard coming out of the gamer closet, but look how not alone we are!

Happy Birthday! I hope someone pre-orders the new XBox for you. ;)

Michelle D. Argyle said...

Happy birthday! I'm excited to learn all these new things about you. I've never liked gaming at all, so it's a foreign world to me. :)

Chantele Sedgwick said...

Kaddie: Yes, I think I told you my little secret. ;) And yes, the Sims is awesome!

Michelle: I'm not hard core or anything, but I do like them. :)

Rebecca said...

When I met my husband I knew nothing about gaming. I didn't even know what an XBox was. But since we got married, he's kind of turned me into a closet gamer, but I don't usually tell people that .... :) It is kind of fun and addicting though!

Chantele Sedgwick said...

Rebecca: It's way fun! I just can't play often because I get addicted ... :)
