Entwined by Heather Dixon, and a contest!!

There are some awesome debut's coming out this year, and I wanted to spotlight this one.

Azalea is trapped. Just when she should feel that everything is before her . . . beautiful gowns, dashing suitors, balls filled with dancing . . . it's taken away. All of it.
The Keeper understands. He's trapped, too, held for centuries within the walls of the palace. And so he extends an invitation.
Every night, Azalea and her eleven sisters may step through the enchanted passage in their room to dance in his silver forest.
But there is a cost.
The Keeper likes to keep things.

Azalea may not realize how tangled she is in his web until it is too late.

Isn't that cover absolutely gorgeous? I love. Love. Love.
Anyway, I'll stop drooling over the amazing cover and tell you a little secret. This book comes out TODAY. It was written by a girl who went to high school with me, and I loved it!
I love supporting debut authors, and I also love contests. And guess what? I ALMOST have 200 followers. Now, what if I actually HAD 200 followers? Man, that would be awesome. And since I love awesomeness, I'm going to give something away.

If I get 200 followers by next Monday, I'll give one of you a brand spanking new copy of Entwined! You like? Great! Here are the details...

Become a follower if you aren't already. If you are, just keep reading. :)
(Also, let me know if you tweet this or blog about it and I'll give you an extra entry.}

AND...

Comment on this blog post with an answer to this question: If you could be any fairy tale character/creature, who would you be and why?

I'm looking for originality, and just plain fun. Be creative! :D

Contest closes at midnight on April 4th!

*If I get more than 200 followers, then I may or may not give something else away... ;)

Update: Yay for 200 followers! Happy Dance! Keep entering guys! Let's celebrate!!

You know what? I don't even like TInkerbell that much - but the girl has skills, and attitude.

That cover is DIVINE!!

Congrats on your followers, I'll be seeing you around!

Yay for Heather! I want to read this so badly now!
And I'd like to figure out why the heck the chica in Rumpelstiltskin thought marrying a guy who'd just threatened to have her killed if she couldn't do something ridiculous and impossible was a good idea.

Such a beautiful cover! Wouldn't it be awesome if we both hit 200! We're both really close. :)

What fairy tale character??? Hmmm . . . Malificent--the evil witch from Sleeping Beauty. I mean, she can turn into a flying dragon. And work magic. Of course, I wouldn't be evil

Or would I??? mwahaha!

Oooh this is a hard one... I think I'd have to go with Rapunzel from Tangled: she doesn't need any man to save her and she knows how to wield a frying pan.

And yes, the cover is amazing.

I've tweeted the contest too :)

Sounds like an awesome story! Would love to win it and how cool she went to school with you!

I'd love to be a mermaid. I just love the ocean.

Congrats on 200!! :)

I would like to be the trusted, possibly funny friend in a story. Non of the main character drama, but the reliable go-to-gal of the main character. And I would be maybe a pixie? I don't know.

I'm a follower... #198, so you're almost there!

You're really close to 200. Good luck! My brain is so NOT abstract, I'm having a hard time thinking. But I guess I would be Belle because although she is beautiful, she's also very smart and kind--and loves to read!

Love the cover, love the story, and love the contest! This is now on my to-read list!

You know those satyr's in Fablehaven? The funny ones? They're satyr's right? Oh man, whatever they are...you know the hilarious brother's that get Seth in trouble? Yeah, I want to be one of them. Even if it is just for the wit factor :) Go ahead and give me the harry goat legs. Life needs to be fun!

Michelle Merrill said...

...and I just blogged about it :)

Ummm Yeah, so I'm the 200th follower. Yep. I'm pretty much awesome! That is why I've waited until now to be a follower...I wanted to make it count! You are my sister after all!!! :D Love ya!!

A fairytale character- Hmmm...I would want to be a fairy. Let's face it- You can fly, shoot magic from your fingers, be cute and tiny. I have always wanted to fly and have flowers bloom behind me, oh and last but not least fairy's are hot! I would have pink hair, pink and silver butterfly wings, and a cute little pink dress with silver sparkles through it. Yep being a fairy would be pretty sweet.

I found your blog through Michelle Merrill, and I'm a fan already. :) I've seen this book around, and it looks fascinating!

As for a fairytale creature...I'm going to go with a werehyena. It's an African mythological creature like a werewolf (for real, I'm not making this up!), but a hyena is just SO much cooler! I'd get that wicked weird laugh, and have a lovely hunchback. I'm guessing it might be a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde transformation-- evil as a hyena, good as a human...so many possibilities. :)

I'll be blogging about this later this week-- already scheduled it!

I DO love that cover! It's beautiful! WOW! I wanna win that book :)Interesting.

As for the fairy tale creature, I went to a website that has you answer questions to come up with the best fairy tale creature based on the answers. I got, Vampire (is that a fairy tale creature? I don't think so) and Fairy/Pixie. I'd go for Pixie. That sounds fun. Oh, my third was a Sucubus (what the heck? That's not fairy tale. But it would be cool).

Consider yourself stalked :) You are officially in my BEST DARN BLOGS EVER! folder. I will be back (after Hawauu). I promise.

I am doing the happy dance right now because you already have 200 followers!! :)

Hmmm... a fairy-tale character.... who would I be??? I think the obvious answer to this question would be none of the above. I want my fictional BOYFRIEND to be the fairy-tale character, and I want to be my fabulous self that attracts sexy, out-of-this-world, potentially-evil-but-in-a-hot-misunderstood-way guy. Like a vampire. Why are vampires so hot? I don't know. They just are. But ME sucking blood? No thank you. :) P.S. I'm going to blog about this tomorrow. Already scheduled. Review today, otherwise it'd be today! :)

Yay for 200 followers! And yay for giveaways! I've got nothin' as far as creative fantastical creatures go, but I would like to be fairy. A wave my wings and the house is clean and a tantalizing dinner is sitting on the table fairy.

Enna Isilee said...

I would want to be The Goose Girl, because even though she went through some troubles, everything worked out to her advantage in the end. :)

Congrats on 200 followers!

This book sounds awesome!. Totally sign me up for this contest. As for your question...

I would be Little Red Riding Hood because I totally think there's more to that story that should be told. Seriously, who wouldn't want to wear a bright red cape?

Melanie said...

I would be a dragon. There are so many different ideas about dragons, but I mostly like the idea of dragons from the books Dealing With Dragons by Patricia Wrede.

A dragon with magic, they are smart and feared. A dangerous creature that is hard to kill and can breath fire, but best of all, if I were a dragon I would be able to fly.

Demitria said...

I would be a gender role reversed princess charming...I mean, who doesn't want to swoop in and save the day?

Candice said...

Well, if it's strictly fairytale creature/character that limits my choices, and I would have to go with Sleeping Beauty. She sings and dances her way through life and has three fairygodmothers to do all the housework. Her man wears a cape, dances with her in the forest, and fights dragons. On top of all that, whenever trouble descends upon her kingdom she gets to take a nap until it's over. Talk about a perfect life...

S.L. Bookworm said...

I wouldn't mind being a kelpie, except, you know, minus the whole drowning and eating children thing.

Shallee said...

Hm, just realized I didn't read instructions carefully enough...I didn't go with a specific fairy-tale creature. Well, I still stand by my werehyena idea. Some people claim the big bad wolf in Red Ridinghood was a werewolf, right? :)

Just wanted to let you know my blog linking to the giveaway went up today! Thanks again, and thanks for following my blog too. :)

Hopped over from Shallee's blog. Nice place you have here. New follower!

Does "The Terrible Dogfish" from Pinocchio count? I just love water and no one would mess with me (makes a little evil laugh).

@MelissaThe Big Bad Wolf would be pretty fun! Thanks for entering! :D
@Jolene Perry Tinkerbell does have some attitude. I give her that! :D
@EmI know what you mean about the whole Rumpelstiltskin fiasco. I so don't get the logic of that girl.
@Amber Argyle Oh my heck Amber! I am laughing so hard right now!! That is hilarious!
@Sari WebbI'd like to be Rapunzel just to have a hunk like Flynn Rider! Yum! :D
@Pk Hrezo I love mermaids!!
@Lizzie I love the funny friends in stories. Always full of humor and lighten up the main characters situation. Great choice! :)
@Maggie I love Belle. I think I'd pick her too.
@Michelle Merrill Oh. My. Heck. The Satyr's? You are so freaking hilarious!! I have been laughing for like five minutes now! So funny!! And for the record, I think saytrs ROCK! :D

I would be the evil step mother in Snow White. I mean, up until Snow White became "the fairest of them all" she had a mirror tell her she was beautiful every day of her life until she was pretty old. And even when she was old there was only one girl more beautiful than her and that was some porcelain skinned young thing. Hello, if that were my main problem in life, I think I could live with it. :) And think about all the positive affirmation she got her whole life before Snow White came around.

Katie Dodge said...

That is so easy... Kendall, because I'd get to make out with Ash, who is the hottest fairy EVER!!!

Jessie Oliveros said...

You may or may not know that Kasie is my nemesis. So I would have to choose Snow White, although if you read Janette Rallison's My Fair Godmother, Snow White isn't very smart. Which might make life boring...besides the being killed and rising from the dead thing.

That book looks fantastic! Jessica Day George wrote a book about the 12 Dancing Princesses...Princess of the Midnight Ball. I didn't read that one, but its sequel.

Unknown said...

I would be Sleeping Beauty because she gets to sleep through all the scary/nasty stuff and still gets the prince. If only I could sleep my way through life while everyone else does the hard stuff! :)

You know, I've always been enthralled by people who can morph into other creatures. I read a lot of books when I was younger about humans who could change into dragons. I always either wanted to be a person capable of morphing or a person loved by this other morphing person.

Being a selfish individual, I'm pretty certain that I wouldn't want the ability to just morph into a dragon. I'd be okay with the idea of being able to morph into anything that I want. However, all of this ramble gave you no exact name of this fantastical creature.

Being a person who can morph would make life so much more interesting. I'd have to figure out if my morphing abilities would be a total secret or not. Would I use these skills for good or for evil?

Hmmm. What about a person who can morph into a dragon in modern times who fights sex trafficking? I feel like that would be a good reason to be a dragon-morpher.

I really want to win that book. I love the cover and the theme and moral of the book. I think it sounds awesome. I went to school with Heather Dixon's brother; it's exciting to have a little connection to a published author! I love reading!

I have always wanted to be Cinderella. Blue has always been my favorite color and I love her dress and hair. I loved the romantic story of the prince that sweeps her off her feet and takes her away from her evil family to be a gracious princess. I also think it would be awesome to have birds as friends/free pets. However, even more than that I have realized as I've gotten older and found my own not-flawless-but-perfect-for-me Prince Charming that having the perfect life/ending that we see in fairytale stories isn't all it's cut out to be and most importantly, it's not real. It is fun to fantasize though. :D
"By then the truth of their romance had been reduced to a simple fairytale. And while Cinderella and her Prince did live happily ever after; the point, Gentlemen, is that they lived." (Ever After)

@dr3am3rI heart dragons. seriously. Love them.

Chantele Sedgwick said...

@Jessie Oliveros Ooohh! We have a nemesis? I'll be sure to remember that! Princess of the Midnight Ball was really good. I loved it. I thought this one would be a lot like it, but it was really different. Thanks for entering! :D

Chantele Sedgwick said...

@Kasie West Ha ha! Awesome answer! Who wouldn't want a mirror to tell them they were the fairest in the land every day? :)
