Random Thoughts From This Week

This week was pretty uneventful. I wish I had some silly stories, but I don't. Oh well! :)

1. My oldest started 1st grade. He loves it and I'm so glad. It's been so quiet at our house though. My girls just don't have the same energy he does. :)

2. I went and saw the play 7 Brides for 7 Brothers. I heart that play! Bless your beautiful hide!! :D Do I have any other musical lovers here? And is it bad that I know all the brothers names and in order? He he. :)

3. I was interviewed over at Kristin Thetford's blog if you want to check it out. I may or may not have an M&M problem...

4. I am 25,000 words into my WIP. I'm still in love, the writing is still going strong and I can't wait to dive in again tonight! I'm not sure if I've ever been so in love with a book I've written. And my MC's love interest? *swoon* Can't wait for you all to meet him!

5. I'm so ready for fall. And can you believe it's September next week? Crazy. This year has flown by. I'm already making my Christmas lists and looking for awesome deals. Yes, I have a problem. Yes, I'm a little OCD. BUT, I love getting my shopping done early so I can just enjoy December instead of freak out and run to the store when I realize I don't have anything for my family or friends! Nothing like standing in line for hours to get something you could have gotten a few months earlier. ;)

So, how was your week? Any fun plans for the weekend? How is your writing going?

I love the honeymoon stage of writing a ms. I'm there too...but feeling the revisions coming is like realizing counseling or therapy might be needed:)

Unashamed 7 Brides fan here too :) When I was seventeen I kind of wished some hot guy would kidnap me. There's got to be a story in there somewhere.

I love musicals! I was in four in High School, and I watch them al1 the time.

Also, YAY for WiP Love!! You and I will definitely have to swap manuscripts. :)

I love 7 Brides! Me and my friends used to each pick a brother (from that Howard Keel movie) to be "ours". Haha!
I've started thinking about christmas too. I like to get things done early.

Hi Chantele, fellow musical lover and Write Campaigner, do you remember the TV show that was based on 7 Brides? My sister and I were obsessed!

I looooove musicals :) Awesome work on your WIP! It's always so awesome to still be in love with it after that first initial rush.

I'm an early Christmas shopper, too.
LOVE that December doesn't have to be filled with insanity :D

I start making christmas lists in June.

Funny Seven Brides for Seven Brothers story: my nephew dressed up as Frank for Halloween two years in a row.

I love musicals, but I have never seen that one. Must remedy that, I think. I will check out your interview. Have a great weekend.

I love musicals, although I've never seen one on stage. I'd love to though. Good news about your wip love (ok that sounds a little strange!), long may it continue :-)

Love musicals! It's been a long time since I've seen one live, though. That's the best!

At our house it's my daughter who has all the energy in a house full of boys. She's spunky.

Sounds like overall it wasn't a half-bad week:) My kids start Sept. 6 so I've still got chaos swirling for a tad longer over here. I'm revising a WIP this weekend and am glued to the news for hurricane Irene coverage. Have a great weekend!

Yep, I love musicals (my hubbs doesn't, however); I enjoy a few operas, too. One of my fave musicals is The Pirates of Penzance--I adore the Linda Ronstadt and Kevin Kline version!

Um, yeah, September next week--that's really weird and hard to believe. And yay for you being 25K into your WIP and still going strong! Keep up the good work. :)

Hi, Chantele. I'm in your fantasy group for the Writers Campaign, and I wanted to stop by and introduce myself.

It's cool that your oldest is enjoying the start of 1st grade. Our youngest will be starting 1st grade Monday; I'm hoping he likes it. It will be a bit of a transition for him.

Looking forward to getting to know you during the campaign!

You are already talking about Christmas!? Even the thought stresses me out. I used to work in retail, and I think I have post traumatic stress disorder. I saw the last Harry Potter movie and rode the tram today, so that was my fun for the weekend.

I LOVE 7 Brides for 7 Brothers. I always loved the scene at the barn raising where they compete with the townies.

It's not bad that you know their names. Not bad at all. I mean, I may or may not know the lyrics to most of the songs still. I may or may not go home and watch my VHS of it . . .

Wow! 25,000 words. That's a great start! I can't believe you are already getting your Christmas shopping started. I'll probably start mine around Dec. 20th.
