Random Thoughts From This Week

1. Pink eye sucks. Like totally sucks. My 18 month old woke up this morning with it. Awesome, right? At least it's just in one eye though.

2. My sister and I were discussing our childhood the other day. We got on the subject of the library and I told her I remembered checking out The Dinosaur Dictionary every time we went to the library. Yes, I'm a girl. Yes, I was obsessed with dinosaurs. I remember that book was SO huge! And I got it every time. My mom would always ask, "Chan, why don't you get another book? Like a princess book or something like your sister?" And I'd always tell her no. I wanted to read about Triceratops. My favorite dinosaur.

Or T-Rex. Because those were just plain awesome!

(I still know a ton of dinosaur names and random facts. Yes, I'm a nerd. And proud of it!)

3. I'm at 42,000 words on my WIP INBETWEEN! WOOT! SO excited to get to edits on this one. I think it will end up being around 55-60,000 words. I'm ROCKIN' this first draft! :D

4. I tried that cinnamon roll cake I talked about last Friday.
Uh ... totally awesome. Here is the recipe if you're interested. It's the best the first day you make it. :) Rolo cookies are on the menu this weekend.

5. My weekend is going to consist of bottling pears, peaches, stew tomatoes and salsa. I'm already dreading it, but it will be worth it!! :D

Anything fun planned this weekend? Anything random you want to share?

That cake receipe looks great. I'm done my peaches, but I still have salsa to do. I'm dreading all of the cutting.

Good luck with it.

Sorry about the pink eye, that must be miserable.

Here in Georgia we did peaches a month ago. Wish I could grow a garden. There's too much wildlife around here.
Good luck on the bottling.

People who can are my heroes. If we ever have a zombie apocalypse I will be stuck eating black beans and oatmeal, while everyone I know eats peaches :) Good luck--it sounds sticky.

Oooh - that cinnamon cake looks delish! I am going to go find the recipe. Have fun canning. I've got that on my list for next week. It's going to be nice, but I love looking at all the pretty jars when I'm done!

Pink eye! Poor baby. Sounds like you have a busy day in the kitchen planned. We have soccer games tomorrow. Three kids playing means a long day!

Oooh! I was a tota dinosaur nerd when I was young, too! My grandparents kept giving me dinosaur encyclopedias when I was around 5 or 6 for birthdays/Christmas/etc.

...now my 4 year old nephew is totally obsessed, so he's inherited my collection ;)

I remember lugging this big book of greek mythology around when I was a kid. I loved it so much. It had so many wonderful pictures in it and all sorts of gruesome stuff.

I wish I still had it.

Haha I used to be soooo obsessed with Dinosaurs too! I was the only one in my first grade class who knew how to spell pterodactyl (no one else knew what it WAS even). Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

I'm sorry about the pink eye. The cake looks delicious though, and did you say rolo cookies? I want to come visit :)

Good for you for canning. I've never done it yet, but I plan to one day.

And I've been outlining a new book. That's about it. This weekend there's going to be a lot of...well, nothing really. I'll probably sleep and eat junk and play with the kids. And maybe I'll clean!

@ Jess - gotta love the pterodactyl. I once created a model of one using papier mache and styrofoam balls. Wonder if my mom still has that one stored in her garage!

Yes, pink eye sucks big time. I hope it clears up quick and no one else gets it. No fun.
That cinnamon cake looks scrumptious.
Tomorrow I'm going to visit my new grandson. He's 3 weeks old today! And there will be some other relatives there, too, so we'll have fun family time. Have a wonderful weekend.
