Conferences

I'm so happy to say I've registered for two conferences this year. LTUE and LDStorymakers. I'm SO excited to go to both this year. I went to Storymakers last year and it was amazing. This will be my first year at LTUE. WOOT! I've heard it's great!

Have you guys ever been to a conference? Was it awesome? Are you going to any this year?

(Sorry this post is so short. Today has been full of crazy!)

Yay! I love writers conferences.

I've been to the James River Writers Conference twice, and this month I'm going to the Roanoke Regional Writers Conference (both conference are in VA). They are completely awesome. There's nothing better than getting in a room full of writers.

I am going to Storymakers this year again too. How did I miss you last year? I was planning on going to LTUE again this year as well, but a little trip to Paris might take priority this year. We shall see.

I haven't been to any but am dying to go. I'd like to go to Storymakers but I'm saving my pennies to go to SIWC.

In case I haven't said it enough...I'm jealous. But I'm determined to get to storymakers one of these times! You know, when I don't have to be home for my kids and their crazy schedules and of course when I have money to fly down and pay for the event! Shoot. I can't wait to hear about it though. Have lots of fun and take good notes!

PROBABLY storymakers.

HOPEFULLY SCWBI in August. I'm REALLY hoping to crash on Kelley Vitollo's couch for that one, but we'll see . . .

Whoo-hoo! I'm excited for both conferences! They're going to rock! I'm going to both (as you know) and hopefully LUW too! :)

Both are excellent and I'm going to both. I'm hoping LTUE will let me help out again this year. :)

I've been to a couple smaller conferences. They were pretty darn fun and informative and overwhelming. Hoping, crossing my fingers, raking the house for change so I can go to Storymakers. Hopefully meet some of you!

And I had to look up what LTUE is. Hadn't heard of that one.

Very few ever come around here. I've been to one, but that was to speak!

I wanted to do Storymakers this year, but I'm due that same weekend. :) It was so much fun last year.

There's an ANWA conference in AZ that's going to be great, but I spent my conference $ on a new laptop...

I have been to two and unfortunately wasn't impressed. The first one was pretty cool, maybe because I won second place in the fiction contest, but the rest of it seemed like it was more for new writers than seasoned ones. I don't dig the agent pitch sessions. I had a couple friends who did them and all it seemed to be was a way for agents to make money with no intent on actually finding clients. Now that may be harsh and totally unfounded, especially considering I didn't participate. The best part of the conference for me was hanging out with my writing friends and supporting the new emerging authors. I did enjoy listening to John Gilstrap speak...so encouraging.

Going to my first conference. SCBWI in NYC at the end of this month. Very excited!

I've never been to a conference. Make sure you take loads of notes, and come back with some good stories :-)

I have yet to go to a conference, but I'm thinking maybe LDStorymakers might be a good one.

Where I live most of the sessions from SCBWI are for beginner writers and not that I'm a pro, but I'm past the rookie stage.

I have not been to one yet, maybe this year will be the year :) Glad you found my blog through Cassie and that I've found yours :)

You already know I'm trying to go to Storymakers. There are so many people I want to meet that are going.

I LOVE conferences! I've been to three and always get so excited, whether I'm pitching something or not. Because I don't hang out with a lot of writers, conferences are always like reunions with a bunch of people I've never met :) Very excited for you!

J.R. Johansson said...

Yay! So excited to see you at both. It's going to be so fun! :)

Okay, usually I'm jealous about all the cool writing conferences you Utah writers get to go to, but THIS year I get to do some cool ones that are right in driving distance. Besides Storymakers, I'm going to the national RWA conference AND the LA SCBWI conference. YAY!

Jealous. Can't afford it this year so I'll just have to resign myself to Book Academy in September/October that's the cheapo one and hope for the next year.
