Google Searches

I've looked a few times at my stats and thought it would be fun to post the keywords people use to find my blog.

Want to guess what the #1 search to find my blog was this month? Anyone? Anyone?

1. Mean Parents.
Uh ... I'm not sure why anyone would find my blog looking for information on mean parents. I swear I'm a good parent! And I love my own parents! This one just baffles me. Oh well. I vaguely remember writing a post on mean parents in YA... Maybe I'll look it up.

2. 50k
I did a writing exercise about 50k in a month. I guess people want to know more about it?

3. Bad word symbols
Um ... I have no idea.

4. Chantele Sedgwick
Cool! People looked me up by my name! Woot!

5. Fairy costumes
I did a post a LONG time ago about what if we had to dress up as our main character for an agent interview. I thought it was funny, but I'm sure the people searching for fairy costumes think it's a little weird.

What are some random google searches that bring people to your blog?

My top ones right now are summer, cliche black white hand shake, Nellie Gomez (from 39 clues), Birthday cakes, and reading. Not a bad haul ;)

Some of mine are bizarre! Love cliches is one of my top ones - I wrote a post about that a while ago. But my most confusing is "Write to English girls" - what is up with that?! :D

Obviously I'm not interesting enough. It only lists my name as a search keyword. Sigh, guess I'll have to work on that.

I love the mean parents search words. Hmmm, what does that say about you? Lol! I'm off to see if I can figure out how to check out google searches about my blog.

Those are awesome. I don't even know how to find that on my blog. I'm not very blog savy.

Hey, should we all wear fairy costumes to your book launch???

I don't get many weird searches. Funny pictures of animals doing funny things. Is one.

Ahh I didn't even have to look, I was pretty sure what mine were. Gotta love Hot Guys in Doublets :D

But I DID actually look and here are some:
Peeta Mellark
Horatio Hornblower
James McAvoy
Twilight
Strictly Ballroom
Fablehaven
Tom Lefroy

But my # searched google word is: WRITING
That makes me feel good
Right after: JONNY LEE MILLER :D

I do love that 'gymnast butt' is on the list

that was supposed to say *#2 searched google word*

Ha ha ha!! @Shelly Brown, I love that 'gymnast butt' is on there too! :D

My #1 search term for a long time has been 'david tennant naked'.

I do blog about David Tennant, one of the actors who has played the part of Doctor Who on the BBC series.

But I don't let him run around my blog naked!

Chantele Sedgwick said...

LOL! Nissa, that's hilarious!! :D

I've never done that, I think I'm going to go check mine out right now!

My number one is abyss. That depressing post I wrote earlier this month about losing my writing mojo attracted a huge audience. I guess I should be more careful about what impression I'm leaving on people. :)

Um, I'm a little scared to go look. Thanks for sharing yours! It's rather entertaining. ;)

My biggest search terms are Bible pics and Lego Bible pics. Because I did a post when my blog was a few weeks old about the Brick Testament, a site that recreates Bible stories in Lego. I'd seen it a few years ago and it came to my mind when thinking of blog topics. I love Lego, but there is nothing else remotely religious on my blog, so I'm sure some people are disappointed!

Bad word symbols? That's a new one.

Haha. Mean Parents. Oh geez.

Well... my number one by a LONG shot is Party...

Followed by Party Pictures

And then the Philadelphia Airport...

Party in the Philly Airport anyone??? Don't forget to bring your camera ;)

My top searches are my blog name, my name and a cycling quote I used in an earlier post.

Haha, how funny! My number one searched thing this week was "asking all them questions lyrics." I...have no idea. But I did like that someone searched "how to attend an art gallery" and my blog came up. Don't know how helpful I was to that person. :)

I get a surprisingly large number of hits from people looking for porn pictures of someone with my name. Apparently there's a porn star named Tiana Smith. (Yikes!) Other than that, most people find my blog by searching for my name, which is kinda boring in comparison ;)

Jolene Perry said...

My name is the number one search by far.

The others are:
Romeo and Julie costumes... uh...
Jolene Perry da singer (no idea who this is, but I might google her to find out)
And couples holding hands.
(must have been a picture I added)

I haven't checked my stats in FOREVER.

Just looked at my top one... (thank heavens it's my name, so second to top one)

Peeing your pants.

I'm so glad I'm not alone in this. :)

@Ruth Josse...we can share the same boat...I have no idea how to check either. Heck, I don't even know how to change to a cool font!

One I had was for teenage boy conversations. I haven't checked for a while now.
