How to Plan a Book Launch

1. Get excited! Yay! My book's coming out! :D

2. Invite people. Yay! Everyone!

3. Realize people are actually coming.  Uh ... now what?

4. Freak out because you have no idea how to do a launch party.

5. Look for swag, give away stuff, party things, food. People like stuff like that. I hope.

6. Spend hours on Pinterest, but don't actually use any of the ideas because you're too lazy and pregnant to be creative.

7. Freak out again when you realize you'll be 9 months pregnant at the release party.

8. Settle down because you know you can sit down the whole time. Hopefully. Maybe.

9.  Freak out again when you realize you have to sign something clever in each of your books.

10. Repeat steps 1-9...

Yes. I'm having a release party. I'll let you know when I get my pregnant brain under control! LOL This is so crazy, but I'm so excited!!

For all you Utah peeps, it's August 25th in West Point at the Schneiter's Bluff Golf Course Club House, from 6-8. If you can't make it, I'm also having a blog tour. Since I'm having my baby in September, it will most likely be in October. Perfect timing, right? Ha ha. :)

Sounds like a can't-miss party! :)

Oh, wow, congrats Chantele on the baby on the way and your book debut! Yes, very exciting news! My blogging time has been cut way back since I'm babysitting my grandson (almost 10 months) full time, so I'm missing so many of my blogger buds. I'm glad you have so many wonderful things happening in your life! Take care.

I like food :)

In all seriousness, I don't think the giveaway stuff matters as much as the socializing part does. But there should be things going on so people stick around. Honestly though when all of us Utah peeps get together we seem to have a great time no matter what! And I'll be just as prego as you (if I can make it) so you don't have to feel so alone ;)

Sounds awesome and crazy at the same time. I REALLY wish I could be there for the launch party. But I can't wait for the blog tour, and I REALLY can't wait to read your book.

I'm not sure you have to put something clever in EVERYONE'S book. ;0)

Wish I lived in Utah. Have fun planning it.

Congrats on the baby and the book. Although I don't live in Utah I'll be celebrating online with you! Can't wait to read NOT YOUR AVERAGE! :-) I loved this post - it was so fun and (probably) so true. Good luck you can do it!

How fun! You are giving birth to two things so close together! Well, one is not a thing, but you know... And it will all be fabulous!

This post induced a mini-anxiety attack in me. Good luck! Can't wait to see how it turns out! :)

Congrats on the book party! You can do it! :) And congrats on the upcoming addition! :)

You don't *have* to sign anything clever in the book. You can just sign your name. If that takes any pressure off...

Pinterest could be a really good source. There's a wand tutorial there. You could enlist the help of the young women or something to help you make wands as giveaway prizes...

You could sign something like "Live beyond average." Lame, I know. But it's an idea.

I think mine would have more freak outs scheduled. Have, um, fun with it.

I will try to make it to the launch party, but that's the first week of school, so maybe not. I'm usually dead that Saturday...

Chantele Sedgwick said...

@Elana Johnson I'll probably be dead too! LOL :)

You can so do this! It may take reaching 10 several [dozen] times. ;) But you're Chantele! Of course you've got this! (And then you'll share all you learned, right? *hint, hint*)

If you have food and copies of the book, I think it'll be a huge success. :) Good luck!

Ah I wish I lived in Utah! Maybe I should just move :D
