Puppies, Lizards, and Pretend.

The other day, I walked into my oldest daughters room and noticed her playing with her littlest pet shops. (She's almost 4.) She looked up, saw me and asked me to play with her. She then proceeded to tell me what she was playing.
She had a little puppy, who had a mommy and a "bad" lizard was trying to take the puppy and put her in a cage. When the mommy found her baby puppy in the cage, she beat up the lizard and got her puppy back and then started teaching her baby how to beat the bad guys up.

Isn't it funny how our kids play pretend? We could get so many story ideas from just listening to our children. I think I may write a new bestseller.

Princess and the Attack of Mr. Lizard

Princess the puppy is taken from her doghouse in the middle of the night by Mr. Lizard. He's holding Princess ransom until Princess's mommy, Queenie, brings him 100 crickets to eat. Little does Mr. Lizard know, Queenie has some tricks up her paws, and will stop at nothing to rescue her precious puppy.

How's that for a children's book? LOL

No, seriously. If you have little kids, listen to their stories. Their imaginations are amazing.
