Random Thoughts From This Week

I had a lovely week this week. Not sure why I used the word lovely, but it works. ;)

1. I read and finished a critique partner's book and loved it. It was awesome and she's not even done writing it! She decided to keep going and I can't wait to see what else she does with it. I just love her. (Hurry up and write it, Katie! Don't make me come over there ...)

2. Got some great feedback on BOUND. I'm editing it, slowly and reading through it for the first time since the beginning of July and I am sort of starting to love it again. I still have a lot of revising to do, but I'm getting excited to do it. It's all falling into place. Remember, this book is my nemesis, so I'm trying to be friends with it. :) I'm also at 13000 words on my WIP INBETWEEN. Loving that as well.

3. We went to the fair yesterday with my little family. The kids loved it. We watched some little boys and girls ride calves like bulls. Isn't that crazy? Now, I've seen my fair share of bull riding, but calf riding? This was new to me. There is no way anyone would have gotten me on one of those! It was so fun to watch though. My kids loved it, although my son was worried one of the kids would get hurt. He's so cute.

4. Banana bread is like the best thing ever. I've made three loaves this week and the kids keep asking for more. So do I ...

5. I started a new writing schedule. Getting up way early, getting my exercise in and then writing until the kids get up. I've added about 4000 words to my WIP in two days. I'm so not a morning person, but my head is so much clearer in the morning and  I don't have any distractions. I'm loving it. Even with the whole getting out of bed before the sun's up ... I'll get used to it. :)

How was your week? How is your writing going? And I hope you guys have a good weekend!

And if you love romance, hot knights and crazy battles, check out Waterfall by Lisa T. Bergren. It's free on Kindle right now. And it was AWESOME!! I can't rave about it enough. Seriously. Go get it.

My week was great. The WIP is coming along and every day I'm excited to get to work on it! Banana bread is the BOMB (when was the last time you used that phrase) so I'm jealous that you have it!

Hope you have a good weekend too, girl! I get to spend it packing up stuff - I'm moving. So that's blegh!

My kids were introduced to the world of mutton busting this past week where kids 8 and under ride sheep! They both loved it so much they want to do it next year!

I'm impressed that morning writing is working for you. I tried it for about a week, and while I loved knowing that I'd met my daily goal before the kids even got up, the writing was pretty bad and the rest of the day wasn't fabulous either. I find night works much better for me, though I WISH morning did! It's a much calmer time.

Before the sun comes up? Excuse me while I bow down before you. I wish I could do mornings! Perhaps I'll give it another try. But I'd need to go to bed before 1am, no?

Just finished Cascade and I had to take little breaks because it was so exciting, I couldn't handle it. Both the books are amazing! Marcello...hubba hubba.

I wish I could get up super early to write, but I'm a night owl. I have to squeeze in writing during the day (which is rare) or wait until everyone goes to sleep.

I DO love romance, hot knights, and crazy battles. Especially crazy battles. Crazy battles and banana bread. Okay, crazy battles, banana bread, and getting lots of writing done. Sounds like you had a great week!

Banana bread is my daughter's favourite new recipe. This is a good thing :)

Glad to hear your writing's going so well.

I think I'm going to have to go back to writing first thing in the morning. It makes you feel good all day to know you already worked on your WIP! Nice to meet you.

I love banana bread! I usually end up eating an entire loaf myself while "checking" it to see if it's cooled off yet.

Nice job getting up early! And exercising, too! I used to get up early and I like getting a ton done, but I have a hard time getting out of bed.

@Samantha I haven't used the BOMB for quite some time, but I like it! lol ;)
@Cynthia Lee Good luck with the move!! Moving sucks. Seriously. Until you get everything in and then it's awesome. :)
@Melanie Stanford I love watching mutton busting! SO hilarious! My kids are a little too timid though. Not sure if they'd do it or not.
@Heidi Mornings are calm. And trust me. It's not easy for me to get out of bed. But my hubby gets up that early too, so that helps a little. :)
@Ruth Josse I used to stay up so late to write. I realized I was neglecting my hubby, so I decided to switch it up a bit and do mornings. It's working pretty good. We'll see if it lasts. And I just got Cascade! So excited to read it! :D
@Melissa Hurst I'm a night owl too. I'm making myself be a morning person though. :P
@Peggy Eddleman LOL! You crack me up! :)
@Sarah Pearson Banana bread is a favorite at our house. My kids devour it every time I make it. ;)
@Christy Nice to meet you too, Christy! :D
@Jeigh Oh, Jeigh. I have THE hardest time getting up. But I figured since my son is starting first grade, I'll have to get up early anyway. Not as early as I've been getting up, but I might as well get used to it if I want to get that much writing done. :P It's hard, but it's working so far.
@Maggie Yay! We have the same friends! :D
@Angie Cothran You will not be disappointed! ;)

oooh! Good to have a new book suggestion. Always LOVE that. You rock on your writing and I am impressed with the new early morning routine. I may have to convince myself to do the same, but who knows. I'm not a morning person either. That's cute that your son was worried about the boys riding calves. Kai did that last year and hopefully we'll get him on one this year. Worries me but is so fun too.

Thanks, Chantele! You're the best! I can't wait to read more of Bound!!! Really, I can't wait to read more of anything you write. :D I'm impressed that you get up so early. Maybe I should try this morning thing out. ;)

The really impressive thing is that you not only write but you exercise before the kids get up! Wow!

I've debated getting up early and writing but haven't taken the plunge yet. I'm just not sure if its worth it. My kids are up at 6, so it would have to be sooo early (but maybe I'm just being a wuss.) But your #s are kind of an inspiring case for gettin up early...
