Random Thoughts From This Week

1. It's hot. I've never been pregnant during the summer and it sucks! My kids are getting bored, since we don't go outside much. Today is a little better though. It's cloudy, so we may have to go to the park.

2. This publishing business is so hard. All this talk about trends and different genres dying makes me sad. I for one, love paranormal. I love reading it and writing it. But no one's buying it. I've heard the same about dystopian. :( What do you think will happen with these dying trends? Will they come back someday? Will editors only publish contemporary and science fiction from now on?

3. Wheat Thins are delicious. I'm eating them right now. ;)

4. My friend Jolene Perry has some fantastic news! Head over to her blog to find out what!

5. Where are you in your writing journey? Querying? On submission? Writing your first novel? I'd love to hear about it!

Have a great weekend!

It has been hot! I've been thinking about you pregos everytime I get overheated! Pregnant in the summer is not so fun... We need to get the kiddos together soon!

I've been lucky enough to not be pregnant during the summer, I'm so sorry, it must be miserable, especially with this unending heat. And I think trends come and go, I'm sure paranormal romance will make another comeback, or I hope so, otherwise I'm done for.

I wish it were hot here... :)

Congrats to Jolene!

Personally, I think these " dying" genres will make a come-back eventually. I'm working on my second book, learning and getting experience so I can (hopefully) get one published soon.

I'm currently working on a paranormal fantasy. I'm not too worried about the genre dying. I'm going to self-publish anyway.

Trends always come back ;) And there's always room for a trend if it's different enough and done well enough ;)

And SO great about Jolene! <3 her.

And the querying journey is always a fun one. Yaaaaaay... ;)

You rock, Chantele. :D

Wow...writing two WiPs for the two genres currently, and unfortunately what I love so not sure if I'm going to shelve them, dying.

If publishing trends are anything like fashion, we'll be seeing dystopian and paranormal surging again in 30 years.

Trends ALWAYS seem to come back, so while it makes me sad, I try not to worry. And I agree about Wheat Thins. :) YUM!

Yay Wheat Thins. I'm curious about Jolene, going to check it out now! I'm querying now, and hooha for requests and long waits, lol! :D

The heat has been horrible. I've been without air-conditioning for two weeks now. It's torture!

I'm about to self-publish a novella. My first time trying it out. I'm nervous. I hope I can get it right! And I agree, paranormal is awesome. I don't think it will go away.

Congrats to Jolene!

You know it's bad when cloudy is better. In the UK we're the opposite. I've only been able to take the kids to the park twice this summer when there was a tiny glimmer of sun! And we got rained home both times. I think we need some more even sun distribution here.

Oh, I finished the first draft of my second book this week. A relief, but tons of work ahead!

I have loved the cooler weather this weekend. I hope you're liking it too! I was pregnant in the summer, and it was not fun. So you have my sympathies!

I say just write what you love. There is an audience for everything. I tend to pick things that I know are a little more popular at the moment, but I certainly file away my other projects when those genres come around again. I just happen to write in a lot of different genres. :)

At the moment, I am starting my eighth book! Can't believe it!

SUCKS to be pregnant in the summer...

Wheat thins ARE delicious.

Your new blog header made me smile.

Well... just announced one big deal.

Finishing up some very exciting projects, and... that's where I'm at :-D

If terrible fashion trends can make a come back (shoulder pads anyone?) then AMAZING book trends can come back too :)

It has been ridiculously hot here in TN! Like 110 ridiculous. I hope it cools down soon!
